I know that I haven’t blogged very often in the past several months, but I thought that it would be nice to reflect on my life since I just had my 29th birthday. I have officially hit the last year in the 20’s. There’s still so much that I want to do before I officially hit the dirty thirty club.
It’s kind of crazy to think of myself as someone in their late 20’s. It’s just crazy. I still feel like a kid at heart, even though I know I have matured alot while in my 20’s. I began to realize that spending quality time with my family will always be #1 and it should always come first. I try to prioritize them into my life because the time that we have together is precious, especially since my parents moved to the Philippines almost two years ago.
While the motives of a 20 year old would be to get drunk, go to the club and dance the night away, I found myself wanting to have a good fulfilling dinner with my friends, having soju and just enjoying their company. Oh man, what nine years can do to someone’s social life. No complaints here. I had enough soju at dinner to know that my body wanted to hop into some pajamas and sleep for the rest of the night.
I know that I want to travel to a few different places before I turn 30. My family already has a trip to the Philippines being planned out but I want to travel a little bit. I have a few locations on my bucket list: New York, Hawaii, etc. the list definitely goes on. My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 5 years and we still haven’t gone to Disneyland together. I think that would be a great way to celebrate 5 years together.
I want to take care of my body more this year. I’ve been going to the gym since November. I can tell that I’m more energized and that I’m getting stronger each time I go to the gym. Obviously, I can’t really tell if I’m having any weight loss but others have told me that they see that I’ve lost some weight, which is always good to hear. It’s nice to know that your hard work is paying off.
I also want to get a couple of piercings and a new tattoo before I turn 30. I got my cartilage pierced when I was 18 and that was the last time I got pierced. There was a random store at the mall that was doing a 2 for 1 special and we just did it. I wanted to get my conch pierced on my birthday but we were running out of time. I have two tattoos and I got them early in my 20’s and have wanted to get more since but they can be expensive especially if you want them to look good and be done right. I want something on my thigh but I’m not sure what I want just yet. The possibilities are endless.
My birthday vlog is up if you’re interested in seeing how chill my birthday was this year!
I want to apologize for the lack of posts the past few months. I don’t want to make any excuses but life has really been kicking my ass and it seemed as if I couldn’t catch a break. Without getting into too much detail, I was dealing with personal issues and car problems…
I want to get back into vlogging and reviewing all the new makeup that I have bought. I know that it will take a bunch of discipline to get back to my normal posting routine but I know that I can do it. If you were waiting for my posts, just know that I have a few ideas in mind for my next few blog posts!
Hope to talk to you soon!
Yesterday on a random trip to the mall, I noticed a poster of Desi Perkins in a Solstice Sunglass outlet store. I automatically assumed that they would be selling Quay Australia sunglasses there. I went inside and found the sunglasses on display. I lost my Quay sunglasses in the style “Sorority Princess” while scrambling to get to another stage at Coachella this year and haven’t gotten around to replacing them yet.
I was trying on a bunch of the different styles, having a few laughs with my boyfriend. He didn’t like many of the more retro styles that I liked so it made it a funny experience for the both of us. I finally settled on the Kylie Jenner collab in the style “Iconic.” The display only had them in gold/purple so I was debating if I should get it even though it wasn’t the color I wanted. The sales associate said they had more colors in the back and I quickly asked for the white ones in the same style. When she handed them to me, I put them on and decided right away that I had to have them.
These aviators have a flat reflective lens (even though the picture above doesn’t look like it). They don’t feel cheap. Definitely more sturdy than Forever 21 sunglasses that I normally buy. I decided to splurge on these because I’ve been wanting them since they dropped but couldn’t justify the price tag. So instead of buying it right away on impulse, I waited to save money for it. The other colors in this style are nice but I feel like the white frame really makes it pop and I don’t have any other sunglasses like it. The leather zip up case is better than the usual case that comes with Quay sunglasses. It definitely makes is easier to carry in your purse without damaging them.
They’re pretty oversized. I tend to gravitate towards bigger sunglasses. I think it compliments my round-ish face very well. The flat lens doesn’t touch my cheeks, which is perfect for us makeup wearers. The sales associate at Solstice said I could come anytime to get them adjusted, which is a nice plus. Some people may not like the mesh detailing, but I feel like it gives this pair of sunglasses something extra. It doesn’t feel too heavy on the face too. I think these will be sunglasses that you can use all year round. The reflective lenses are perfect for the spring/summer and the white frame will compliment darker fall/winter colors.
Life has kept me away from my regular posting schedule so I thought that I’d come back and share a little update on what’s happened recently in my life.
At the end of last month, my boyfriend and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. We decided to keep it simple and have a chill day around town eating, shopping, and of course, flying his drone.
This is a photo of me and one of my besties at our best friend’s wedding a couple of weeks ago. We had so much fun sharing their love and I wish the day didn’t go by as fast as it did. There were many struggles that day but it was so beautiful, I found myself crying like a baby all day long. Do you cry at weddings? I certainly do.
Last weekend was my goddaughter’s 5th birthday and my dad decided to make a surprise visit all the way from Seattle. It’s been about 6 months since we’ve seen him so we were so happy to see him. I cried, I was so happy!
I got out of my comfort zone and decided to do a cut crease eyeshadow look with the Morphe 35K palette. It’s not the best look since it was my first time attempting this, but I liked the outcome!
I’m also working on a vlog that should be up sometime this week. I hope that I can hop right back into my regular posting schedule.
I’m sure you aren’t surprised that my every day bag is a backpack since it’s on trend right now. But this backpack is convertible and I purchased it at Ross before Coachella last month. This is a Multisac convertible backpack with 2 zipper side pockets and a snap closure pocket on the front. It looks so small but I can fit a bunch inside. There’s a zipper pocket inside and two other smaller pockets. Here’s what’s inside:
First thing on the list is my Mini Happy Planner. I am obsessed with planners and have a bunch of different planners in my collection. I chose to bring this one everywhere with me because of how compact it is and it doesn’t hurt that it’s super cute! I normally only have one pen in my bag for work but I also have a bunch of different colored pens that I use in the planner too. I always need sunglasses with me because my eyes are very sensitive to brightness. These have an aviator kind of style with mirrored lenses. Mirrored lenses are perfect for the warmer months and we’re getting lots of sun and blue skies here in the Bay Area. I also have my vlogging camera, Samsung NX Mini. As you can see, it’s a very convenient size to carry around. I have an Apple lightning charging cable and a portable charger by Anker. I’m on my phone so much that it dies a little quicker. I wouldn’t want my phone to die in an emergency situation. I have a blue Michael Kors card holder where I keep the essentials. I have this pale blue Rebecca Minkoff keychain/mini wallet. I put my cash and change here since the card holder is a little snug for it. I can’t go anywhere without my car keys and my bright blue pepper spray makes it easier to find. A girl’s bag isn’t a bag without some makeup items. I have DUO eyelash glue, Maybelline Better Skin powder, Wet n Wild liquid lipstick, Essence make me brow gel, and chapstick.
My bag doesn’t have anything too interesting. Surprisingly, I didn’t have any trash or leftover food in my bag this time. There’s a pocket in the back of the bag that perfectly fits my iPhone 6 Plus. So that’s a plus.
